On television, movies, social networks, food is &#8220;served&#8221;, in fact, in every possible way.<br \/>\nIn these cases we talk about foodporn, but what is foodporn? It is a term that, as described by sociologist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.egeaonline.it\/ita\/prodotti\/saggistica-varia\/food-porn.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luisa Stagi<\/a>, commonly defines the practice of photographing and sharing on social media images of food, even though it is now used to indicate in general media overexposure of food.<br \/>\nThis is a very important phenomenon and at the time, for the word &#8220;food porn&#8221;, there are 19,500,000 results on Google, an entry on Wikipedia, a Facebook page with 2,713,143 like, 113,135,094 posts with the hashtag #foodporn on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1950s, Roland Barthes, in his <em>Mythologies<\/em>, commenting on the food-related content in <em>Elle<\/em> magazine, he wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[A picture of food]\u00a0offers fantasy to those who cannot afford to cook such meals<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\">Something unattainable that, just like in pornography, stimulates imagination and fantasies. This is a little bit of the sense of what&#8217;s &#8220;pornography&#8221; of food.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">But what does porn food mean today and what are the reasons behind such a big phenomenon?
