The paper produced by researchers at RuralHack – a project within Societing4.0 that explores both the cultural and technological aspects of the relationship between open hardware and agriculture – has identified 42 blockchain-based projects in the food supply chain – both international and Italian – between 2016 and 2018, the number of which has doubled over the past year.

Scenarios, applications, impacts

Developing blockchain solutions without a thorough assessment of all the existing challenges – including infrastructure, digital literacy and connectivity – could cause this much-heralded revolution to fail miserably.
